神奈川を拠点に、海や光、自然のリズムをテーマとした抽象絵画を制作しています。
20年以上にわたる立体造形の経験を経て、現在はレイヤーによる色彩表現を中心に、
空間や内面と呼応する作品を探求しています。
Biography (日本語)
私は、絵画制作に本格的に取り組む以前は、20年以上にわたり立体造形を中心に制作してきました。
素材そのものが持つ質感や重さ、空間に立ち現れる静かな存在感、
そして自然の中にあるリズムや循環を、身体感覚を通して探り続けてきた時間でした。
この立体造形で培った感覚は、現在の絵画制作にも深く息づいており、
作品の構造性や奥行き、根源的なエネルギー感として表れています。
これまでに、国内外の企業・学校法人・医療法人などのコレクションに作品が収蔵され、
ラグジュアリーホテルや集合住宅、建築・インテリア空間に向けたコミッションワークも数多く手がけてきました。
空間との関係性を大切にしたこれらの制作経験は、作品がその場の空気と調和しながら、
鑑賞する人に静けさや広がりの感覚をもたらすことへの関心を、より一層深めるものとなりました。
2020年前後からは、海や光、そして宇宙的な秩序に着想を得た抽象絵画へと制作の軸を移しています。
この変化は、自然の「見えるかたち」を捉える段階から、
その背後にあるエネルギーや気配へと意識が向かっていく、私にとって必然的な流れでした。
物質的な世界からより微細な領域へ、
可視的な現実から、粒子や共鳴、普遍的なつながりの感覚へと、
制作の関心は少しずつ移ろってきました。
レイヤーを重ねることで生まれる色彩の層は、
透明感や呼吸、そして海と宇宙に共通する循環の動きを映し出しています。
調和、陰陽のバランス、自然現象、静かな感情の明瞭さといったテーマは、
現在も一貫して私の制作を導いています。
光を内包した色の層と、余白を生かした構成を通して、自然と内面、
そして普遍的なリズムが重なり合うような感覚を、鑑賞者それぞれの中で感じ取ってもらえる作品を目指しています。
Biography (English)
Mikiko Yoshida is a Kanagawa-based Japanese artist whose work explores the subtle forces that shape both the natural world and the inner universe.
Before turning to painting, she spent more than two decades creating sculptural works, developing a sensibility deeply rooted in materiality, natural rhythms, and the quiet presence of space. This long sculptural practice continues to inform her paintings, which embody structure, depth, and an elemental sense of resonance.
Her work is included in several corporate, educational, and medical collections both in Japan and internationally, and she has completed numerous commission projects for luxury hotels, residential developments, and architectural interiors. These collaborations have strengthened her interest in creating works that harmonize with the atmosphere of a space while offering viewers a moment of stillness and expansion.
Around 2020, Yoshida shifted her focus to abstract paintings inspired by the sea, light, and cosmological order. This transition marked a natural evolution—from observing nature’s visible forms to engaging with its underlying energies; from the physical to the subtle; from the tangible world to the realm of particles, resonance, and universal connection. Her layered color fields evoke transparency, breath, and the cyclical movements present in both the ocean and the cosmos.
Themes of harmony, yin–yang balance, natural phenomena, and quiet emotional clarity continue to guide her practice. Through luminous layers and meditative compositions, she seeks to create works that invite viewers into a space of reflection—where nature, inner emotion, and universal rhythm meet.

私の作品は、自然界と内なる世界に流れる、静かでありながら力強いエネルギーの存在を探求しています。
創作の原点には海があります。そこには、私たちを包み込む宇宙的な力を感じる瞬間があり、私の制作はその気配から始まりました。しかし、私の絵画は海そのものを描くものではありません。目に映る風景を超え、その奥にあるリズム、光の現象、形を持たない構造や波動をすくい取り、抽象として立ち上げています。私にとって海は、自然と宇宙が共鳴し合う“小さな宇宙（マイクロコスモス）”です。そこでは静と動、光と影、陰と陽が絶えず共存しています。
制作は、光と色を幾層にも重ねるプロセスから始まります。それぞれの層は透明な記憶のように静かに積み重なり、やがて深い奥行きを宿した表面を形づくります。私は意図的に「時間」を描こうとは思っていませんが、層を重ねるうちに、潮の満ち引きや風が地形をつくるように、無数の瞬間が作品の内側に堆積していきます。こうしたレイヤーは物質としての絵肌であると同時に、目に見えないエネルギーの記録でもあります。可視世界と不可視世界の境界に、作品が静かに立ち現れていくのです。
自然現象は、私の創作における重要な導き手です。空気や水のなかで光が屈折する仕組み、色がそれぞれ異なる振動を持つこと、わずかな色調の変化が感情の風景を大きく揺るがすこと。こうした自然科学的な要素と同時に、陰陽のバランス、静かな脈動、自然界に潜む普遍的な幾何学性といった“見えない力”も、私の作品に深く影響しています。私は論理ではなく直感に従いながら、これらの力を光と色の言語へと翻訳していきます。
初期の作品にはより風景的な要素がありましたが、近年の作品はより抽象的で本質的な表現へと進化しています。自然を再現するのではなく、その“息づかい”や“見えない構造”そのものを提示することに関心があります。最小限の要素でありながら、揺らぎや広がりを孕んだ画面は、鑑賞者が自身の内なる風景と向き合うための静かな場になります。
最終的に私が目指しているのは、静けさの中に動きがあり、動きの中に静けさがある、そんな二つの世界が交差する瞬間をつくり出すことです。光・色・層を介して、自然、宇宙、人の内面がひとつに溶け合う“調和の場”を紡ぎたいと思っています。
Statement (English)
My work explores the quiet yet powerful forces that shape both the natural world and our inner universe.
Although the sea was my first point of entry—a place where I sensed the presence of vast, universal energy—my paintings are not depictions of the ocean itself. Rather, they emerge from the subtle rhythms, luminous phenomena, and invisible structures that exist beneath what we see. For me, the sea is a microcosm of the cosmos: a field of perpetual resonance where stillness and movement, light and shadow, yin and yang coexist.
I approach the canvas through layers of color and light, allowing each stratum to settle like a transparent accumulation of memory. I do not consciously attempt to paint “time,” yet a quiet sense of temporal depth often appears in the work, much like tides, wind, or changing light gradually shaping a landscape. These layers function as both physical surface and energetic record—a meeting point between the visible and the invisible.
Natural phenomena play a central role in my process. I am drawn to the way light refracts in air and water, how color vibrates at different frequencies, and how a single shift in tone can transform emotional atmosphere. At the same time, I explore the unseen forces that govern the world: the balance of yin and yang, the quiet pulse of energy, and the universal geometry found throughout nature. These elements guide the work intuitively rather than logically, allowing each painting to become an autonomous field of resonance.
While my earlier works held more recognizable traces of landscape, my recent paintings move toward a more abstract, elemental expression. They are not meant to reproduce nature but to distill its essence—the breath of wind, the shimmer of light, the depth of blue, the quiet expansion of space. Through this minimal yet dynamic language, I seek to create a meditative space where viewers can encounter their own inner landscape.
Ultimately, my paintings aim to offer a moment of stillness within movement—a place where the natural world, the cosmos, and human emotion intersect. By layering light, color, and subtle forces, I invite viewers into a space of harmony, depth, and quiet transformation.
