◇経歴
1970年 神奈川県生まれ（藤沢市在住）
1990年 東京工科専門学校インテリア科卒業後、建築設計に従事。
1998年 金属造形ユニット「IRONGREY（アイアングレイ）」を結成し、リビングデザインセンターOZONEにて初個展を開催。アートファニチャーで日本の伝統的な世界観「ケとハレ」を表現。
その後、半実用作品から視覚芸術へと移行し、「人は自然の一部である」という自然観をコンセプトに、金属の質量感を抑えた軽やかな素材使いと簡潔な造形を特徴とする作品を発表。
以後21年間でホテル・企業・医療・住宅空間に約1,000点超のコミッションワークを制作・設置。
2019年 「IRONGREY」脱退。
2020年 個人活動を本格化。クラフトアートやアクリル抽象絵画へ活動の軸を移行。
現在は、「人は自然の一部」という東洋思想を基盤に、風・水・光・大地・木々のリズムが響き合う抽象表現を通じ、空間との共鳴を探求している。
◇BIO
1970 Born in Kanagawa, Japan (based in Fujisawa).
1990 Completed the Interior Design program at Tokyo Technical College; worked in architectural design.
1998 Co‑founded the metal art unit “IRONGREY” and held a first solo exhibition at Living Design Center OZONE (Tokyo), presenting art‑furniture that explored the Japanese concept of “Ke to Hare” (everyday / ceremonial).
Subsequently shifted from semi‑functional objects to visual art, developing metal‑based abstract works grounded in the idea that humans are part of nature.
Known for a light material approach that suppresses the physical weight of metal and for a refined, simplified formal language; produced and installed 1,000+ commissioned works over 21 years for hotels, corporate spaces, medical facilities, and residential environments.
2019 Departed IRONGREY.
2020– Began full independent practice, expanding into craft and abstract acrylic painting.
Currently explores space‑responsive abstract works informed by Eastern philosophy—humans as part of nature—layering the rhythms of wind, water, light, earth, and living growth.
◇Statement
私の作品は、東洋思想における自然観「人と自然は本来ひとつであり、宇宙と調和して生きている」という考えに根ざしています。
万物は「陰」と「陽」、そして「木・火・土・金・水」の五つの要素の相互作用によって成り立つという陰陽五行の思想は、私の創作の根幹にあります。
風のそよぎ、水のゆらぎ、光の移ろい、大地のぬくもり、そして芽吹きの気配──
自然の五つのリズムにふれたとき、私の中に静かに何かが呼び覚まされます。それは外の景色を見ているのではなく、自分の内側の景色が揺らぎ出すような感覚です。その感覚の断片を、色彩とリズム、奥行きのある抽象的なレイヤーで表現しています。
アクリル絵具をベースに、金属箔、ベールのような半透明層、流動的な筆致を重ねることで、「火」のような情動、「水」のような静けさ、「木」のような生命の広がりなど、五行の気配を内包した空間をつくり出します。画面上には明確なモチーフはなくとも、鑑賞者がそれぞれの感性で“氣”を感じ取れる余白を大切にしています。
私にとって絵画とは、自己と自然、あるいは宇宙との間にある“目に見えないつながり”を可視化する行為です。日常の中で失われがちな「本来のリズム」にそっと触れ、感覚の深呼吸を促すような、静かなエネルギー体として機能することを願っています。
現代の生活においてもなお、自然と共鳴しながら生きる感覚──
それは東洋が古くから育んできた智慧でもあります。私はその感覚を、現代の空間や暮らしの中に再び取り戻すための“絵画という装置”として提示し続けたいと考えています。
◇Statement
My work is rooted in the Eastern philosophy of nature — the belief that humans and nature are inherently one, existing in harmony with the universe. The concept of Yin and Yang and the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water) form the foundation of my creative practice.
When I encounter the gentle breeze, the ripple of water, the shifting of light, the warmth of the earth, and the quiet presence of new growth, something is softly awakened within me. It is not simply the external scenery I respond to, but rather a resonance that stirs from deep inside. I translate these subtle sensations into abstract layers of color, rhythm, and spatial depth on canvas.
Using acrylics as a base, I build surfaces through metallic leaf, translucent veils, and flowing brushstrokes. These elements embody the energies of the five phases: the passion of Fire, the stillness of Water, the expansive growth of Wood, and beyond. While my work lacks figurative motifs, I leave intentional spaces where viewers can experience and interpret their own flow of Ki — the invisible life force.
For me, painting is a way to visualize the unseen connections between self, nature, and the universe. I hope my work functions as a quiet energy that invites a return to our original rhythm — a deep breath for the senses amidst the noise of daily life.
Even in contemporary society, the wisdom of living in resonance with nature continues to offer profound value. Through painting, I aim to reintroduce this sensibility into modern spaces and daily living — not as decoration, but as a subtle device for reawakening our shared connection to the natural world.
